August 2011 - Yvette and Yvonne will each receive the inaugural National Black Theatre Festival EMERGING PRODUCER Award. The NBTF has presented four of Twinbiz’ productions, three written and directed by Heyliger: What Would Jesus Do? and Autobiography of A Homegirl, starring Yvonne; and Hillary and Monica: The Winter of Her Discontent. The forth presentation was I’d Rather Be Dancing a film written, directed and starring Yvonne, with co-direction by Yvette. Twinbiz gives back to the festival by offering play readings, panels and educational workshops.
February 2011 - Twinbiz launched the National Black HIV/AIDS Theatre Initiative, held annually on February 7th (National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day) in order to enlist black theatres and theatre artists nationwide to do more to combat this epidemic by reading or producing at least one play a season until HIV is eradicated. To this end, Twinbiz was honored with a RESOLUTION from the City of Los Angeles.
December 2010 - What Would Jesus Do? swept the AUDELCO Recognition Awards for Excellence in Black Theatre. The production, directed by Yvette, won seven awards including the AUGUST WILSON PLAYWRIGHT AWARD for Yvette, LEAD ACTRESS for Yvonne and DRAMATIC PRODUCTION OF THE YEAR for the Billie Holiday Theatre.
